2022 Viognier
The palate is lush and balanced, maintaining generous acidity. Viognier is difficult to grow because of the narrow window of time when aromatics and acids are at their peak. Generally low in acidity, the wines should be drunk young, within a few years of release.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Edgefield Winery has a long history with Chukar Ridge Vineyard, located on a steep South/Southeast facing slope outside of Dallesport in the Columbia Valley AVA. Originally planted in 1993, the site is comprised of fifteen acres of silty loam soil overlooking Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge. Their Viognier vines were planted in 2004.
Food Pairing Notes
Light white meats such as chicken and pork are a natural match for this aromatic white wine. It also pairs beautifully with recipes that have an Asian flair, such as curries or spicy noodle dishes. For a cheese pairing, try something soft and buttery like triple crème brie.
